Two academics from the University of Huddersfield have visited the College of Health Sciences (CHS) at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi to reinforce collaboration on health research, following a workshop in Kumasi on dementia and diabetes.
Precious Adade Duodu, Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing and International Lead for the Department of Nursing, and Joshua Okyere, a postgraduate researcher, paid a courtesy call on the Provost of CHS, Professor Christian Agyare.
The visit built on a research dissemination workshop that sought practical, evidence-based solutions to dementia and diabetes and strengthened ties under a memorandum of understanding signed by the two institutions in November 2023.
Professor Agyare, who delivered the welcome address at the workshop, received a citation of honour from the Huddersfield team in recognition of his support for the collaboration.
He praised the joint research efforts and stressed the value of international partnerships in tackling public health issues, while also signalling interest in expanding the collaboration to physiotherapy and other disciplines.
